Belinda Emberson is a British Wheel of yoga (BWY) Diploma Course Tutor and has been practising for over 25 years. Belinda started her training and teaching in 2002 qualifying with the BWY in September 2004, going on to undertake additional training modules with the BWY in: Pregnancy, Meditation, Foundation and Diploma Courses. She holds the ITEC Anatomy Physiology & Massage therapy and the PTTLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) teaching qualifications. Belinda runs Ofqual Level 4 regulated teacher training courses enabling yogi’s to become teachers. She is also currently the Foundation Course Officer for the BWY assisting tutors who wish to deliver foundation courses.
Belinda’s classes are a mixture of dynamic and static yoga asana, with emphasis on alignment, flexibility and strength, working towards the postures in stages in order to produce the best practice for each and every individual.
My Journey
My yoga journey started 25 or so years ago as a result of a back injury. My first teacher, Angela Davies, was patient, encouraging and supportive. I knew straight away that this was the right path for me and for my back. When Angela moved onto other areas I was extremely fortunate to find Bob and Be Insley and with their encouragement went on to undertake the BWY Foundation Course. This was a revelation, and I gained a much deeper insight into the practice of yoga. Being able to look a little more indepth into the philosophy brought about a realisation that I needed to continue my journey. The Foundation Course gave me a unique and wonderful stepping stone into the BWY Diploma, which I undertook with the late Karen Lewis in North London. I have had many wonderful teachers over the years, but the encouragement and support I gained from the first two was the inspiration that has stayed with me throughout. My love of yoga continues and I have now completed the BWY DCT training and am running my own diploma courses teaching yogi’s to become teachers. I am really looking forward to being able to pass on all the wonderful knowledge and teaching I have been fortunate to have experienced over the last 25 years.

Been attending Belinda’s classes since she started teaching and try never to miss! Drop in classes are excellent (and fun too!) for those who feel they cannot commit on a regular basis. This new website is great and inspirational.
Thank you Pauline x
I have tried many different types of exercise classes over the years such as aerobics, gym, cycling, but due to family commitments and health problems have never stuck to them. Once I found yoga and Belinda in particular I have been a regular attender. I feel stronger both physically and mentally. I can honestly say I enjoy every class, not only for the exercises which are varied and stimulating but also for the happy atmosphere. Great website.
Thank you Kay and thanks for coming to class xx
